Where to Buy Photo Shoot Props

When you’re starting out as a stylist and photographer, you may not know where to source cute props for your photoshoots. As you can see from the tiny peek at my prop collection on TikTok, I kinda have the opposite problem! And that’s why I’m sharing my favorite places to buy props in this blog.

Etsy

Brand new to Etsy? It’s a global online marketplace where you can buy or sell vintage or handcrafted items. I love using Etsy to find truly one-of-a-kind props, like funky retro art pieces, handmade pottery, and fun home decor. Plus, you support local shop owners when you use Etsy!

Poketo

Who doesn’t love adorable office supplies that make work fun? Poketo is an art and design infused lifestyle brand that sells cute accessories, apparel, home decor, and more.

I’ve found so many great props at Poketo, like colorful bowls, candlestick holders, and vases. These acrylic step bookends mentioned in this blog are one of my favorite props to use.

Anthropologie

You may know Anthropologie more for its women’s clothing, but the brand also carries a lot of fantastic home and furniture items that can double as props. Like these pleated porcelain vases that can hold flowers and work as pedestals.

Afloral

Afloral is one of the best places to pick up faux and dried flowers for photoshoots! Plus, they have a pretty collection of planters, vases, jars, and bowls that can be used as props.

Sometimes you do want to use fresh flowers for a client, but when you want blooms that you can reuse over and over, check out Afloral. (And see how I put my Afloral flowers to use in this tropical shoot!)

Paper Source

Need paper goods for a flatlay? Try Paper Source! This stationery store has all your typical stationery supplies, like greeting cards and invitations, but you can find awesome props in their party supplies, personalized gifts, and desk accessories collections.

CB2

CB2 is a modern furniture and home decor store where you can find a lot of hidden gems to be used as props in your shoots. I particularly like browsing their decor and mirrors, kitchen and dining, and gifts departments for props.

Target

Ahh, Target. Everyone’s favorite place to browse and buy stuff that’s not on our shopping lists! Target has a lot of inexpensive props in many different departments: chalkboards and letter boards in office supplies, faux plants and bookends in home decor, even cute random items in their dollar section!

Amazon

So many of my props are sourced from Amazon! Supplies for creating food condensation or fake milk splashes. Faux peel-and-stick tiles for pretty backdrops. Seamless paper. The list goes on and on, but you can actually find all of my favorites on Amazon here.
