Dream Client Alert: Bath & Body Works Shoot

October 7, 2021

You know Bath & Body Works. They create the most amazing-smelling candles and body products. What you might not know is that this was a total dream client for us! I mean, who doesn’t dream of working with colorful and feminine brands like Bath & Body Works!??

Want a behind-the-scenes look at what we did for them? Here you go!

Working with Bath & Body Works

We were definitely “fan-girling” hard when they contacted LISH Creative to produce a series of photos and videos for their social media accounts. These photos and videos were to focus on their new fall collection — and it was mid-summer.

Aside from the fact that this shoot was an amazing opportunity for us, it was also a personal win! I spent my teenage weekends wandering around Bath & Body picking gifts for my family and friends. So they hold a special place in my teenage and adult heart; I love the whimsical scents and vibrant colors!

To add even more excitement to my “pinch-me” moment, we’re already working on another project with them (yay!). Stay tuned for details on that upcoming shoot later…

Fall(ish) branding production challenges

When Bath & Body Works contacted us for a fall photography branding session, we realized quickly there were going to be some prop challenges. There were no fall leaves (yet) and we faced a week full of rain, so getting outside was not an option either.

But, these Instagram Reels and TikToks needed to be created (hello! it’s B&BW!!), so we improvised!

Without any fall leaves in sight I had to figure something out. I was able to find the most beautiful preserved leaves from a lovely lady on Etsy named Katherine. She collects leaves and stores them in a warehouse in Colorado! But, finding this fall foliage was not an easy task at all! It actually started off as sort of a disaster.

Bringing the outdoors….indoors

Since it was raining and the forecast was NOT changing, we decided to bring the outside inside, well…inside. We shot the apple scenes on my screened-in porch.

We purchased and carried 70 pounds of apples in IKEA bags to make this shoot absolutely perfect. After we ate more than half a dozen apples ourselves, we decided to donate the remaining apples. No reason to let delicious apples go to waste!

Setting the scene

After leaving my screened-in porch behind, we decided to create a beautiful wheatfield scene… but there are not many wheatfields in our area. So we made one in the studio. Home Depot and every container of decorative grass they had made this possible.

Next, we enlisted the help of Party Unboxed,to create the most gorgeous cafe scene that matched the brand’s ideas perfectly!

Glitter makes everything fun

Finally, we used glitter…. Glitter everywhere, to complement their Fairytale shimmer body mist. I even hiked through a forest (with a rainbow puffy dress on) to capture this dream-like scene.
