If you love working with paper, prints, or anything crafty, you might already know the star of our next case study.
Avery is a go-to retailer for digital printing, label-making, and all the office supplies you need to turn your creative visions into a reality. We’ve been working with the brand to produce photo and video content since 2018, and this summer, we worked on a series of 10 short-form videos to be shared across TikTok and Instagram Reels.

Bringing Avery’s materials to life
Short, stop-motion videos were perfect for this project, because they allowed us to highlight the products while also keeping it light and fun. But don’t be fooled … even a short video requires lots of preparation and attention to detail!
The first step is always to come up with a concept. Avery products can be used in so many different ways. They help small business owners achieve a professional atmosphere, busy moms stay organized, and teachers add a bit of enchantment to the classroom. Our goal was to come up with tutorials and scenarios that really speak to each audience and product use scenario. And with back to school season around the corner, why not focus on Avery’s awesome selection of school supplies?
Once we have the initial theme, we write a script for each video, organize a shot list, pull inspiration for props and backgrounds, specify camera angle, length and aspect ratios, and send it all off to the brand for final approval before we even pick up a camera.
Pops of color for year-round fun

It may look like magic, but this stop-motion video is actually a combination of a bunch of pictures we took with props laid out in different positions. Check out my Instagram to see us do this behind-the-scenes!
And, in case you haven’t noticed, I love monochrome. The bright pops of color catch the eyes of customers scrolling through their social media feed. It also adds to the happy, creative mood we was going for.
After the shoot, it’s time to edit. We photographed the products as we put them into the backpacks, then reversed their order in the final product so that it looks like they are spilling out … violá! Groovy art supplies galore! Between this and the 9 other videos we produced, the Avery team has videos and clips that they can use over and over on their pages.
