Think outside the box
I’ll be honest: It can get monotonous to try and come up with new ideas or ways to style photo shoots. Sometimes, we all need a bit of inspiration!
To help get those creative juices flowing, I love to take “regular” props or products and use them in a way they weren’t intended. Take a pair of gardening gloves, for example. You’d expect to see photos of gardening gloves with the typical gardening props like plants, a shovel, etc.
I wanted to think outside the box and get creative with how we were going to style the gloves and shovel! First, we shot some traditional photos like holding flowers with the patterned gloves on and then with a watering can.
Then, it was time for some fun. I used the gardening shovel to scoop some delicious ice cream along with taking an ice cream cone and planting a flower inside!
The key is to have fun and come up with novel ways to showcase your products or focus. Remember: People have seen the “same old shots” so many times. How can you put a new spin on it?
