You’ve been rocking and rolling with your business, but you just know your brand needs a refresh to take things up a notch! Now, where should you start?
Plan a brand photoshoot!
It may feel a little uncomfortable to block out time in your schedule to do this, or you might worry about being the “face” of your brand. But trust me, you won’t regret it! Here are a few tips to help you plan a successful brand photoshoot.
Treat your shoot like a client
Just like you take time to plan and prep for a client photoshoot (or other type of project), you’ve got to treat this shoot for yourself the same way you would for one of your real clients!
First and foremost, start with your wardrobe and hire a hair and makeup artist. Come up with four to five options so you have them on hand to easily make a change during your shoot! The last thing you want to worry about is your own hair and makeup – so hire some help!

Plan ahead of time
Just like you would plan out a shoot for a client, you’ve got to plan your own brand photoshoot, too! There are so many things that go into executing the perfect photoshoot, as you want to avoid reshoots.
Start by making a detailed shot list, complete with background colors, locations, props, and even ideas for poses. Plan on using multiple sets and wardrobe changes so that you have a lot of variety and options, and don’t forget to use multiple crops for different uses! Also, think about including members from your team or maybe even friends and family! Your customers want to know the real you and you want a bit of variety in your shots.
I know it can be a bit overwhelming, so I created a FREE 5-Step Photoshoot Planner to help you avoid some of my early mistakes and to help you save valuable time on shoot day! It includes:
· A brand brainstorming worksheet
· My go-to shot list template
· A complete by-the-hour shoot day agenda
· A preparation checklist
Don’t forget!
Last but not least, don’t forget to capture content for your Reels and TikTok as you go! Your customers will LOVE to see the behind the scenes footage from your brand photoshoot. Take time to capture shots that show what it really takes to pull off an epic photoshoot. We all love a little laugh when things don’t go as planned too!
