#LABrunchParty

THE IDEA
I have always wanted to meet the creatives that I regularly interact with on Instagram. The app has become such an incredible tool to connect with like-minded professionals, so it seemed only natural to extend those connections in real life – to convert these “online friends” into real life friends! A few months back, I was browsing Adriana’s (@pineapplesandcoffeecups) feed and noticed an invitation. She was hosting an open ice cream meetup in Los Angeles. I wasn’t going to be in town for the event, but was determined to plan a similar party! I immediately reached out to Natasha (@violettinder), who I had been texting about our palette party collaboration, to see if she would be interested in co-hosting. She was IN and the meetup was a go!

THE PLAN
We started with the basics: the event would be held in Downtown Los Angeles. Natasha resides in Orange County and I have been making frequent trips to Claremont to visit Graham, so it worked! Plus, so many of our “Instagram friends” live in the SoCal-area, so there would be plenty of talented gals on the guest list! With the location in mind, we were able to find THE most perfect venue, and send out invites! Next, we secured some incredibly cool gift bag vendors, and dreamed up party decor. This was all with the help of one crazy-large, color-coded Google spreadsheet. Creatives can be organized too, right?!

THE SPACE + EATS
Pitchoun Bakery, located near Pershing Square in Downtown Los Angeles, served as the event’s primary sponsor by generously providing pretty patio space and tasty treats. Their signature orange tables set the scene with the perfect punch of color, and we even had a view of the largest living wall in Los Angeles! From fresh and flaky croissants, to creamy and colorful macarons, every single menu item from this authentic French Bakery + Cafe was gorgeous and delicious.

THE DECOR
Our goal was to add bright and colorful decor that our guests could identify with. We were catering to a creative crowd, after all! Natasha devised a pink, purple, and turquoise palette and painted various paper goods for the event including welcome cards, gift tags, and placemats! To increase the number of images taken and posted, I created two different photo backdrops. The first was pink and painted, the other, a rainbow drink umbrella dream! To top it off, our friend Amber (@dixieandtwine), who flew all the way from Calgary to attend the event, added a touch of gold – an #LABrunchParty glitter banner!

The main table was adorned with appetizers, pitchers of iced tea and lemonade, and Natasha's bright placemats!
