Bermuda Photo Diary & FREE Wallpapers!

Last week, I had the opportunity to travel to Bermuda thanks to the Hamilton Princess Resort. My friend Amy Tangerine was also up for the adventure so we spent 3 nights staying in the “pink palace” and traveling around the island to find the colorful gems. Which, by the way, was not difficult because Bermuda was one of the most colorful destinations I have ever visited!

It’s a big year for Bermuda because they’re hosting America’s Cup, the world’s sailing championships, in May, and the Princess is the official hotel of the Cup! You can already see preparations taking place for the event and we even met some of families from members of team Land Rover BAR who have been staying at the hotel since December to train for the championships.

We also had a chance to meet a few locals and learn more about the history of this beautiful island.  Bermuda was discovered by accident in 1609 when British settlers who were headed to Jamestown, VA veered off-course. Three men stayed behind on the island while the rest of the passengers went on, and the British came back to officially settle in 1612. Those three men became known as the “three kings” and Amy and I were able to meet an 11th generation Bermuda native, whose ancestor was one of those three kings! How amazing is that? He gave us the official history lesson of St. George’s – including the fact that it is home to the oldest Anglican church in continuous use in the new world, and that it is among the Taj Mahal, Great Barrier Reef, & Venice, Italy as a UNESCO world heritage site!
