If you saw my Friday introduction Instagram last week, you know that I am all about a neutral wardrobe! But recently, I've been on a mission to make my outfits match the colorful dreams that float around in my brain. So I'm starting here, and documenting my journey towards a more colorful wardrobe, with the new lishy takes on color series! I'll also be giving myself bonus points next time I choose a color besides black when I'm at the mall or browsing online... It's my very own version of dress the rainbow!
FIRST UP: MUSTARD
Who knew I ever wanted to wear this color? Seriously. Although it is on trend this year, I just wasn't sure that I could pull it off...but then I found this little number from Banana Republic. Aside from being 80% off with all discounts applied (yes, you read that correctly), I loved the cut and flowy layers. I am all about shift dresses and comfort is my number one priority.
So with colorful dress in hand, where do you go? To a colorful wall of course! I channeled my inner Rosie Clayton and Jennifer Lake and pretended to be a fashion blogger/instagram super star for a New York minute. This mural is titled "Remembering Workers, Remembering Veterans" and was painted by Lucas Stock Douglass Brunner & Temisan Adoki. It is located on the side of Goodwill and across the street from DoubleWide Grill in Pittsburgh's Southside neighborhood. Bonus points for an attached parking lot.
I paired this look with leggings and riding boots because...fall. And my latest Rocksbox set was perfect - the gold statement necklace is by SLATE. You can get your first month of Rocksbox for free with code alishylishyxoxo.
Thanks to Leah for the rad pics and to my sis, Carly for snapchatting BTS - you can follow me by scanning the code in the banner to the right!
